Pressure Swing Adsorption

Metallurgy is a thermal refining process. Raw metals are melted above melting points to separate unintended impurity elements into removable slag via flux reactions, while various chemical treatments are adopted to purify and modify molten metals.
Metallurgical Industry

As a core discipline of material engineering, metallurgy encompasses a set of thermal smelting and refining techniques dedicated to purifying crude metals. The fundamental purification mechanism relies on fusion smelting: crude metallic feedstock is subjected to thermal treatment at temperatures higher than its melting threshold to produce homogeneous molten metal. Undesirable impurity elements dispersed within the molten phase will undergo interfacial chemical reactions with added fluxes, transforming into low-density silicate slag that floats on the surface of the liquid metal for subsequent separation and removal. Apart from slagging decontamination, extensive chemical adjustment processes are integrated into the metallurgical workflow to regulate alloy proportions, eliminate harmful trace elements, and tailor mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties of final metal products.
